Simon Says...Distress It...

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
DISTRESS IT
I have a confession make...last week was a big hectic for me...I was busy putting the finishing touches to my new crafting space...Wimbledon started and in this house everything stops for tennis...my Summer couch potato guilty pleasure and time runs away with you when you're having fun. Before I knew it was Friday and I needed to make my project for this week's challenge so I delved into my stash of Tim Holtz Idea-ology to create a quick and easy collage type card where someone else has done all the work and I just needed to look out my Paper Distresser Tool and have some fun...
I cut paper from the Tim Holtz Memoranda Stash Pad (one of my favourites) to be slightly smaller than my card blank and distressed the edges with the Paper Distresser...created some rips with my trusty Fiskars scissors and inked around the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide.
For my collage I chose items from Idea-ology Collector...Botanical Layers...Snippets and gave them the same distress treatment
I used Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide (what a glorious colour) and the Mini Layering Stencil from Set 4 to add more colour to the paper...
added the collage items popped up with 3D foam pads to create dimension...a double Idea-ology Lace Trimmings bow and a little tab...
the flowers and butterflies from Botanical Layers...
Life Quotes Remnant Rubs...an Ideaology Index Clip coloured with Abandoned Coral Distress Paint and a Quote Chip...
chopped up to create individual words...

Wonderful layering Kath, I just love the diary paper and the butterflies are just gorgeous. You sure know how to collage beautifully! We are vegging out here too, but not the tennis - the Tour de France, it is not doing my blood pressure any good though!! Hugs, Anne xx

Gorgeous creation, Kath, so much beautiful detail.

Watching the tennis here too, with a laptop on my lap so I can catch up on a bit of blog visiting when the players are sat down in between games. (Nadal currently trying to win the fourth set to stay in the game.)xx
